About the product
The witch's actual business model, in three words. The front wears the vintage "Hansel u. Gretel — est. 1812" storefront crest; turn around and the back makes the offer — KIDS EAT FREE — with the witch beckoning from her gingerbread doorway in the original engraving. Read it twice. The artwork is genuinely antique: Ludwig Richter's classic Hansel and Gretel wood engraving (the witch at her gingerbread door, the children at the fence) and Hermann Vogel's hand-drawn story-title lettering, both from 19th-century German editions of the Brothers Grimm and both long in the public domain. We restore the scans, cut the compositions, and set the type in-house — every design in this shop is our own original composition built from authentic vintage artwork. • FRONT: the "Hansel u. Gretel — est. 1812" storefront crest in vintage gingerbread lettering, with the 1812 cut from the original engraving • BACK: KIDS EAT FREE. over Richter's witch at her door • Printed BOTH sides — chalk-cream ink on Bella+Canvas 3001, a soft 100% Airlume cotton tee • Colours: Black, Navy, or Dark Grey Heather • Unisex sizes S–2XL — true to size; see the size chart in the photos
